Notes - Josie was 9 when she came to America. She left Yankton, SD for Silver Lake, MN in 1894 and was married May 1, 1894 to Joseph Svihel. They made their home on the farm in Hale Township, Hutchinson, MN (later owned by their son Albin). They reared
their family on that farm. In 1913 they retired to the smaller 6 1/2 acre farm on Swan Lake Road west of Silver Lake. They enjoyed 46 years of married life. [from Harry Hadd, based on research done in 1983]
